Peel-n-Sitck Bags and Boards

August 7th, 2010 · No Comments

For the last three years or so, I have relied on Midtown Comics to send me my comics.  Over these past years, I have been very happy with them and continue to be.

One item that I’ve enjoyed from them is their Peel-n-Stick Bags and Boards. When I order from them–or when my subscriptions arrive–the ordered comic books are already bagged and boarded.  But when I buy from other people, most of the time I have to bag the new books I get.  The peal and stick bags are easy to use and if they are bought together the boards are already in the bags so they are ready to go.  I do get a little annoyed with the backing strip on the sticky part of the bag, but this is a small price to pay to keep my collection looking its best.

Superman and the Art of Deduction

July 31st, 2010 · No Comments

As a fan of Superman, I seem to think–as many–that he can pretty much do anything.  Interestingly enough, I do see that he is weak in the art of deduction and detective work.

In the picture above, from World of New Krypton #10, he asks for help from Adam Strange to help solve a mystery.  He refers to other DC Universe detectives that are is normal people to call in the need of some mystery solving.

Obviously, this is a ploy in the DC Comics editorial board to bring Adam Strange into the mix to heighten Strange’s credibility–and consequently, book sales.  Clark Kent is an investigative reporter isn’t he? That is what Investigative Reporters do is solve mysteries. Isn’t it?

One good thing, however, at least he didn’t team up with Scooby Doo as Batman and Robin did.
