I was in the comic book shop this past Thursday for my Comic Book Day and the Spider-Man and Fantastic Four mini-series. Honestly, the #2 issue in this series caught my eye and then I tracked down #1 to begin my collection. I like mini-series like this one. They are short enough to not have to invest much time or money to them and typically they combine, or feature characters I am interested in.
From the cover, the idea is clear to me that this mini-series is a promotional for the summer movies. Spider-Man 3 opened last week, or so–I got to see it Sunday night, and the Fantastic Four with Silver Surfer opens in July. I think Marvek did the right thing by doing a team upthis summer to bring these blockbusters together. I think that the team up idea is much better thatn the promotion movie comic books. Why would anyone read those? Once you’ve seen the movie…what else is there?
