For the second installment of the U.S. 1 series, we are introduced to a character called Midnight.

We know nothing about her except that her whip is hypnotizing. And, by the way, she the hired gun of the Highwayman–the nemesis of U.S.  That, however, is the problem–we know nothing about her.

Here we are, in the second book of these series and the writers introduce a villain–with any background story.  The least they could have done is given some kind of origin story–we don’t even know anything about the Highwayman–at this point.

But, we know about her whip–that is rendered useless by the ingenuity of U.S. and a stick of gum.
