Green Lantern #2 struck a creepy tone with me.

It is a stretch to think about thefollowing similarities but, as I read this issue, I began to think of New Orleans. In August 2005, New Orleans was hit by a Hurricane Katrina.  In August of 2005, Green Lantern #2 hit the shelves (not really, we all know it came out in June/July, but work with me).

A large portion of focused  on Coast City’s destruction and how businesses were hesitant to return.  In the real world, New Orleans residents were facing similar concerns.  Does this not strike you as odd? 

I know it is a stretch, but when the comic world crosses over into the real world, I get the creeps.
