On Sunday, I gave a sermon called “The Gospel According to Superman”.  That sparked some conversation about comic books with the people that are here.  One soldier, in particular, came by today to show me a comic that he wrote.

He talked to the people in his squad earlier in the year and began to draw his comic about the people that he works with everyday.  One of his buddies wrote the story and based it on their true stories.  They, of course, added some adaptations to make it humorous and to spice up the stories.

The artwork was really good.  I was proud that he brought it to show me.  He drew the pictures with a Bic ballpoint pen and a Sharpie.  The sharpie he carries everywhere he goes. The more that I involve myself with comics, the more I learn how different people draw.  I also learn a little bit more about people.

I failed art. Horribly. I’m jealous! Seriously, hats off to kids who can draw. Art and music…two things that I can’t do, but can appreciate.
