Dealing with the grief of his father’s death, Robin sets out to be a stronger hero in Robin #167.
I enjoyed read this tale–not simply because I read it while I was at Grafenwoehr, Germany away from my family, but because the comic book was an excellent example of what a one shot can be. It doesn’t have to NOT flow in the story–the comic book just needs to be understood by someone who is not versed in the story.
I enjoyed the learning perspective that this comic book gives. I see Robin truly as a learner, trying to learn the ways of Justice. He, of course, has a good teacher, ut it strikes me to see him think about what must be done and why. The inner-dialogue was a nice touch.
I don’t typically read Robin. Not because I don’t like him–I just don’t have the space to pick him up with my current budget. Not reading the title places me at a disadvantage, but the writer, Brandon Thomas, pulled me along through the story–all the way to the end. This was good storytelling. I looking froward to seeing what will be done with “The Resurrection of Ra’s al Ghul”.
