Comic Book Day backcbd

The Student Factor

January 5th, 2008 · 3 Comments

One of my RSS feeds spits out data from Blog Herald.  I haven’t been reading it very long–I have been reading much at all anything recently–but I trust their advise.  Even more so, do I trust Lorelle VanFossen. So, I was crushed when I read her post yesterday.  I was crushed because in my entire blog, I am guilty of the crimes outlined in her post.

“(I)have no freakin’ clue what (I am) blogging about.”

That is very true.

I was pardoned, however, by this small quote she slipped in:

Sure there is the “blog as you learn” factor, but then you aren’t an expert, so don’t blog like one. Blog like the student you are.

I hope that you readers understand that I have only been reading comic books for two and a half years (one of those, I spent in Iraq) and only a little over one year blogging–providing commentary about comic books.  I am not an expert–nor do I claim to be.  If you want an expert read Fortress of Fortitude, that is an expert.

I am a learner.  I read comic books.  I collect comic books.  I like to tell other people about them.  That’s what I do here.

It is that humble nature that admits “come learn with me as a stumble along” that makes a difference rather than blogging as a expert when you know nothing about which you blog about.

Good for you for getting the point. Thanks!

i dunno what exactly my blog is about as well, and it definitely wouldn’t qualify as a money-earning blog…anyway, thanks for your comment about the online alarm clock, it’s pretty useful, i agree! :)
